This combination essence with a little essential oils spray is for alleviating extreme upset and distress. It is specifically designed to be used where it is not possible to get near a frightened, aggressive, out of control or hysterical pet. A LITTLE bit of Pet Calm Spray can be sprayed over the animal, taking care to avoid its eyes and mouth. On the very top of the head or the back of the neck is a good place to spray, if possible. It can also be sprayed in their cage, basket, blanket, stable or living space. After spraying the animal with Pet Calm, wait around five to ten minutes, then repeat if necessary. When the animal has calmed down, speak gently to the animal and make sure the animal has some drinking water available, but if the animal is an aggressive one, first make sure that you cover and protect any parts of your body that the animal might bite or scratch.
This Pet Calm Spray is very gently fragranced, as animals have a much stronger sense of smell than humans. But if they back away whenever the spray is used, try spraying just water first and see how the animal reacts to that. If the animal does not back away from a little squirt of water, then add just a one little squirt of the spray to water and gradually increase the amount of Pet Calm Spray in the water over a period of time. Do NOT add this Pet Calm spray to drinking water or anything that the animal eats. If you yourself have become upset by an animal’s behaviour, you can put a little Pet Calm Spray onto the palms of your hands. Then gently rub your hands together. Cup your hands loosely over your nose and mouth, and breath very slowly in and out though the nose until you feel calmer.
