Aurora is the Roman Goddess of the dawn, who brings light out of darkness, and order out of chaos, as she drives her brother Sol, the Sun God, across the sky in her horse-driven chariot, at the start of each day. Falling in love with many human men, Aurora had her favourite lover made immortal, but forgot to ask for the ageing process to be halted, so he eventually became so shrivelled she turned him into a cicada. The morning dew is said to be Aurora’s tears as she mourns the loss of one of her half-human sons, who died in battle. She represents union between different frequencies. The Aurora Borealis is a meeting of solar rays and the magnetic field of the earth. The human aura is formed as a result of a union between the spirit and the body. Aurora is the dawning of realisation within us that we are immortal spirits, experiencing a short sojourn in mortal vehicles.
